So, with 1 week left to go, we want to give a final push to the campaign. Can you help us?

By completing the following social goals, new Trash illustrations will be added to the game. Vote in the comments for your favorites and complete as many tasks as you wish of the following list.

Active Player Marker 

It's great to see backers getting involved in the project development. The rat standee had a very good response and there was a marked tendency on the ones you liked the most. That's why next week we will host a 2nd round with a variation of the Blue Rat and the one with the eyepatch. After having a winner, we will give a name to our rodent friend, based on your ideas.

You unlocked another stretch goal: The rat active player marker!!

Welcome to all the new backers, it is awesome to see more than 500 backers sharing the love for Cooks & Crooks! Since you are part of this process as much as we are, we want you to decide the rat standee!

 We also have some new sketches for trash cards but we will share those along with the Social Stretch Goal in a couple of days.

So the next stretch goal is Spot-UV on the round timer / spin dial and a rework on the graphic design.

Mega XP

This past weekend, we were at the first big gaming convention in our country: Mexico Game Experience!. The players loved Cooks & Crooks, Seat Wars and the future games for Detestable Games: 13 Maidens (a party card game) and Deadline (a worker placement game which is strongly getting reputation as the first Eurogame from Mexico) Follow us on Kickstarter to stay tuned...

Oven Box + Kickstarter character!

You did it! In the first week you fully funded Cooks & Crooks and you also reached all our planned stretch goals! (We are short by a small quantity but we are sure we will get there soon!)

So now the box will be an oven with a magnetic lid! In case you prefer the original yellow and vivid artwork you will also get the Box Sleeve with Spot-UV.

Next Stretch Goals

We love hearing your ideas! Several of you suggested a 6th player expansion and because of your enthusiasm, that's something we are already considering to create... but not for this campaign. 

Making a 6th player involves more than just creating a 6th chef and a 6th dish, it involves changing the game balance. We believe that for 6 players the game would also require a new mechanic so the game keeps at a good pace and players stay interested when it is not their turn. So yes, we will most likely end up doing a big expansion for the 6th player (Even making a 6 to 8 players expansion is on the table right now).

For those backers who really really want to try this game with 6 players as soon as they get it, we suggest adding another 5th player expansion to your pledge; just keep in mind weird things may happen while playing with 6 players.

We are working on another mini expansion though, stay tuned!

So, what's our next stretch goal? Well...

Backer #199 Corey Hastings suggested making a first player marker but not just any marker... a rat first player maker!

Luis Muñoz is already working on some sketches and you will help us decide how our rat character will look like. This is thanks to you, so feel free to suggest anything you would like to see on our new and Kickstarted rat friend, (including names just for fun... Remi? Imer?)

And what should our next stretch goal be? Maybe making this from a cardboard standee to a plastic 3D mini? Upgrading our Round timer (the spin dial)? Keep the ideas coming!

"This was a really good game. My favorite part was sabotaging peoples' ovens. I liked that there were special ingredients that were good when they were used in certain dishes but bad when used in the wrong ones. It was easy for you to teach me and we played quick. It is a quick, family game and I liked the mechanic of seeing what other people drew so I would know what to try to steal from them."

European news

We have important news for backers in Europe!

Tomorrow Black Box Work will help us launch Cooks & Crooks on Verkami. This way you will be able to get the game for a lower shipping fee. Just take note that the Day-1 promo applies on Kickstarter only.

For German, French, Italian and Portuguese translations, we usually offer pdf translations if at least 12 backers from the same country pledge into our Kickstarter. German backers, since there are already 15 of you, we will start working with Malte Friegg to translate the instructive into your language! Thanks for your support!

First batch of Stretch Goals unlocked!

Stretch Goals unlocked!

Wow!!! In just 1 day you have nearly unlocked all our first batch of Stretch Goals! That's amazing! Thank you for supporting Cooks & Crooks, the game will have a lot of upgrades and many more are yet to come!

• First of all, the cards and mats will have a nice feel to the touch by having linen finish. 
• All components will fit in the box (even sleeved cards) with a cool printed cardboard insert.
• You will get a score pad (25 sheets) and pencil to register the points at the end of each game.

Now we are about to reach the Magnetic lid and with that, we will also re-design the box to make it look like an oven!

We are already planning the 2nd batch of Stretch Goals, 

• Box Sleeve with the original artwork for those of you who prefer the vivid illustrated box. 
• Spot-Uv for the box to make the artwork stand out from the background.
• Extra sheets for the score pad (+25 sheets).
• AND... we want to hear your ideas! What upgrade would you like to see on the game? (Read below about the social goals to avoid repeating some things we have in mind) Write your suggestions in the comments!

Social Goals

Next week we will introduce a couple of social goals that involve sharing the campaign on Social Media. The rewards for those include additional artwork for trash cards. We are also working on the 2 vs 2 ruleset, so we might ask for help to playtesting. Nothing is written in stone yet but we are also talking about a possible Bacon-mini expansion...

Day-1 Promo

So the day one promo will be valid to all backers from #1 to #320 (When you back a Kickstarter project, you receive a mail with a fixed backer number, in chronological order). Thanks for the early support! We might repeat promotions like this one for future projects ;)

To simplify the process, all backers in any reward tier from "Retailers pledge" and above will get 1 free 5th player expansion for each copy of the game you acquire (in case you decide to get extra copies and also to help retailers who pledged early. Even those in the $600 Game + Expansion tier will get an additional for free.

For those that missed this promo, stay tuned, there will be other ways to get the expansion for free... we have a couple of activities planned for that.

Kickstarter campaigns are possible because of the people, not the money itself. We all have worked very hard to develop Cooks & Crooks and it is awesome to think that it will become a reality soon!

What's next?

A very exciting part of almost every tabletop game campaign, STRETCH GOALS!

Getting more backers and funds will allow us to improve the product so here are the upgrades we have planned for the game.

Through the campaign's length we will share more news and activities we have planned to make this campaign a very successful one, Social Goals, Tabletopia events, polls will be something you can expect to see.  

There's also enough time to promote the campaign on Day-1 so please help us reach more backers by sharing on your Facebook or Twitter account. We have been doing so since the morning and we have still a long way to go.

We will post FAQ shortly so you can find answers to common questions, specially those involving the Day-1 promo.
